‘PLAIN & SIMPLE’ is an independent Hip Hop artist hailing from Birmingham, West Midlands. Since the tender age of 15 years old, Plain has been writing and recording music.
Originally starting off in Grime. He was heavily influenced by the likes of the grime God Father Wiley, Kano, Wretch 32 and many others. Around 18 years old, Plain & Simple started experimenting in different genres. From freestyling over garage and speed garage at nightclubs to attending hip hop ciphers at local studios.
Through meeting people in the scene and performing at open mic nights, it wasn’t long before Plain was introduced to the battle rap world. This is where he is now hugely recognised in the underground Birmingham battle scene and has gone against a few big household UK names.
Plain & Simple has also been featured on BBC Radio numerous times alongside his counterpart ‘Brains For Breakfast’ with their collaboration acoustic project ‘Plains For Breakfast’ in which the lead single ‘Short term pain’ also featured on popular Youtube channel JDZ Media.
Plain & Simple has shared stages with the likes of Klashnekoff, Ocean Wisdom, The Mouse Outfit, Skinny Man, Chester P, Doc Brown and many others aswell as making appearances on live radio ciphers with the likes of High Focus heavyweights Verb T and Dabbla. Also a member of ‘Beats & Bars’ an event company turned community founded by UK hiphop heavyweight DJ Tricksta which in Plain’s words is “more like a family” it is no wonder why Plain & Simple lives and breathes music!
Now after a 2 year hiatus, he is officially back with the video for the first release from his highly anticipated new E.P called ‘Just a thought’. Mixed and Mastered by DJ Tricksta at the Beats & Bars HQ and the video shot and edited by MRG Media, this track entitled ‘RAPAHOLIC’ is the first song off the project and aswell as being a great reintroduction into the world of Plain & Simple, it packs more than a punch with it’s dark and powerful tone and is a stern reminder of the thriving talent continuously being produced from the UK.
